Inaki RUIZ DE EGUINO
Born in San Sebastian n 1953. Sculptor, painter, engraver, writer, conference speaker, art and exhibition curator.
Graduated from Art School in Zaragoza (1974). Since his first exhibit in 1974, he has expressed one of the most attractive Spanish plastic approaches in recent years. Several prizes and rewards witness the success given to his art work by the public and the critic alike.
The coherence and intensity of his art stand on intuitive revelation, a vital passion and a strict discipline.
Between 1972 an 1977, he develops his painting, from abstract expressionism and pursues his personal research on the concept of plastic space in the following series: Magical Cosmogonic Realism (1977-1980), Tetradimensonal Painting (1980-1985), Sculpture: Space Identity and Aesthetic Matter. Between 1980 and 1990, he applies the geometrical language (sculpture and painting) in the series:«Traditional Elements of Tools», «Rural Architecture», «Paper and Ropes», and «Floats and Gravitations». Since 1990, he uses the theoretical and practical principles from plastic laboratories in sculpture, gravitations, relieves, painting, graphic works and other mediums.
The works of Ruiz de Eguino are exhibited in various international art shows, thirty European museums, other public institutions and places. He is considered as one of the most respected geometric artist on the international scene.
As a professional specialist and prestigious artist, he has published more than forty books.
