The uniqueness of the building is surprising since it is the only monastery founded by the Premonstratensian Order in the Kingdom of Navarra; The museum presents with a audiovisual aid, a trip through time from the origin of the building, used as hospital for the pilgrims on their way to Saint James of Compostela, till today relating the history and the life in Urdax. The cloister, which is from the end of the XVIIth century, presents to us a peculiar aspect of an imposing beauty through its restraint, the simplicity of its lines and the red color characteristic of its stone.
The cluster of buildings is a space for cultural events and exhibitions; a mirador on the cloister allows to contemplate this beautiful architecture.
The museum leads us through a trip which starts in XIth century and narrates the evolution of the monastery, and the passing of the pilgrims who have followed this old way of Saint James.
