Monique LEINERTBorn in Grenoble, Monique Leinert is the grand-daughter of a painter and great collector who let her meet many artists. At twelve she draws already women portraits and silhouettes, revealing a strong bond to her mother “a woman with an exemplary softness”. At sixteen she enrols at the Beaux Arts in Grenoble. Her teachers notice her talent, speaking already of genius. When she settles in Provence, inspired by nature which surrounds her, she paints landscapes and starts to have numerous exhibits. Her meeting with Katia Granoff, discoverer of talents and famous gallery owner, gives her access to the most important galleries. At the dawn of the 90s, a revival happens in her painting, she dedicates herself to the representation of the woman elegant, fragile, silhouette wearing a hat, a woman from another era and at the same time so contemporary, filled with the softness, sensitivity and often mystery. Fortunately for us, Monique Leinert put her brushes and easel in Basque Country where she now lives and creates.
