Thomas FISCHER
Tomas Fischer was born in 1941 in Zurich. Residing in Spain since 1966(where he spends part of the year in the Navarra region), he formerly worked as entrepreneur until this self-taught artist decided to dedicate himself entirely to sculpture.
His life as an artist since then has developed through and been marked by numerous exhibits which he has undertaken continuously since1997. Both individually as well as collectively (with the Gruma-x in Málaga; at the Gallery El Catalejo in Marbella or with the Antares group in Sevilla) Tomas Fisher exhibits regularly with the “Española de pintores y escultores” and his works appear in numerous private collections in Spain, Switzerland, Germany and the United States.
Fisher’s sculptures express a constant reflection on the world of today, on humankind and its complex relationships with society and nature. The animal world is one of his recurrent themes. “La agonía del guerrero” (The Warrior’s Agony), “El gallo” (The Rooster), “El ángel de la guarda”(The Guardian Angel) or the figurative “Icare” (Icarus) are amongst his works…
